Welcome!  Rhythm for a Reason was designed to celebrate and learn about the community.  Our mission is to instill philanthropy in young professionals.

The goal is to inspire those in Albuquerque to love and respect the place they live.  Join us as we give back, network with other young professionals and live out loud!

THE LOST TRIBES OF MARDI GRAS

THE LOST TRIBES OF MARDI GRAS is a vocal and percussion ensemble playing traditional music of Carnivale, ritual and celebration, performing ancient spirit songs and contemporary celebratory Afro-Caribbean rhythms and chants, Brazilian Samba and songs from Africa to New Orleans on traditional percussion instruments including conga, surdo, agogo, clave, cow bell, panderetta, pandero, tamborim, shakere, maraca and vocals. Come join in songs of freedom and community. 

THE SCUMFROG

The Scumfrog's impact on the global dance music scene is undeniable. Since 2002, he has scored nine number one club hits in the US and UK. As a producer/remixer, The Scumfrog (aka Jesse Houk) has made chart-topping records with artists like David Bowie, Crystal Waters, Missy Elliott, and Britney Spears.  DJ FLO FADER

DJ Flo-Fader has traveled all over the world rocking some the greatest venues. DJ Flo-Fader now has a residency at Albuquerque's hottest dance club Lotus Nightclub & VIP Ultralounge Thursday through Saturday nights. Flo-Fader has performed in countries such as Switzerland, France, Germany,Portugal, South Africa, and more. Flo-Fader blends a diverse mix of music styles with precise blending and out of this world scratching. DJ Flo-Fader is one of the last remaining true DJ's today.

What We Do

Shalini and Abinash started the organization Rhythm for a Reason once moving to Albuquerque, NM to assist non-profits in need.  Being young professionals we have noticed that our friends and colleagues have the resources and desire to contribute to community improvement efforts yet do not have the avenue in which to give.  Our mission is to instill philanthropy in young people.

What We Believe

This is the true joy in life, to be used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one, to be thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap.

To be a force of nature instead of a feverish little clod of ailments and grievances, complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy. 

 

I  am a member of a community and as a member it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can before I die.  Life is no brief candle to me.  It is a sort of splendid torch that I want to make burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.
